Should I add diffs for ChangeLog entries on proposed patches as well?

Well, just the entry, as such, is better than a diff to ChangeLog.
Because it's likely that the ChangeLog will have changed.

Because the date that they are actually committed to the repository
will be different. Or does this not matter that much?

Whoever installs the patch should use the current date in the ChangeLog,
regardless. (See the last line of
http://www.gnu.org/prep/standards/html_node/Style-of-Change-Logs.html.)

How do I do this? Do I need savannah access or is there someway of
    doing a "push request"?

Savannah. Sorry, I somehow thought you were already included. Are you
user <gavin>, or <garvinman>, or ...? Let me know, or request
membership (don't have link handy, sorry) and I'll approve.

Thanks,
Karl
