It would seem like this is an old problem with the "resolution" "not interested in fixing this". See <URL:http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/lilypond-devel/2012-05/msg00536.html> and its reference to <URL:http://lists.gnu.org/archive/html/bug-texinfo/2011-08/msg00002.html> where an original minimal file demonstrating the problem is given. So it would not appear like LilyPond has the option of using an unmodified texinfo.tex. -- David Kastrup
