Indeed, the idea was to be able to have a separate perl module if needed. I wanted it in order to facilitate for instance GNU/Linux distributions packaging in case they would have a strict policy of perl modules in perl directories. The perl standalone module is created by ./maintain/prepare_perl_standalone_module_archive.sh But with the XS module, it is probable that it does not work anymore, probably some changes are needed for XS packages. I'll check if it still works without change. -- Pat
