Details:
There is a regression of texindex in awk compared to the C program: the -o
option is no longer supported.
BTW, it would be nice if -o would support multiple files like this:
texindex -o OUTFILE1 -o OUTFILE2 -- INFILE1 INFILE2
or like this (where any other punctuation than "+" could be used) :
texindex --output-file-list + OUTFILE1 OUTFILE2 + -- INFILE1 INFILE2
