Indeed, this is one of the few cases where DocBook is incompatible with Texinfo, as where an index can happen is very restricted in DocBook (at the beginning or the end of a document) while an index can appear almost everywhere in Texinfo. (The other case, if I recall well is in the @def* equivalent of DocBook where what can be is very restricted, while it is not in Texinfo.) I did not find anything to solve this issue. Maybe what could be possible would be to collect indices in output them only at the end of the document. -- Pat
