Your bug report is not complete enough to even guess as to what problem you are having. Please include specific details of your problem. Include 'sort --version' output. Include the operating system 'uname -a' and the version of any relevant libraries. Normally I would ask for input files to recreate the problem. But if you are sorting 4GB files that would be infeasable so do not try to send those! But please to include whatever details you can about the specific nature of the problem you are seeing.
