The cut(1) command has it all wrong. Say one wants to "cut" the 7th field. One must say "I want the 1-6, and 8- fields". That is because there is no exclusion switch provided. Only inclusion. Which forgets the more basic meaning of the word "cut". -- http://jidanni.org/ Taiwan(04)25854780
