Hi, and thanks for helping with this. The wget developers don't/can't handle translation fixes, are completely handled by the Chinese translation team at translationproject.org. The translation project asks package maintainers not to make any changes to the translations they provide, even when they're broken, so we do our best to comply. As it happens, the current version of the zh_CN translation (what will be available in the next release of wget) has: #. TRANSLATORS: "ETA" is English-centric, but this must #. be short, ideally 3 chars. Abbreviate if necessary. #: src/progress.c:805 #, c-format msgid " eta %s" msgstr " 估时 %s" As you can see from the note to translators, the extremely long version of that string that you noticed, wasn't appropriate, and would tend to interfere with proper display. For future reference, translation bugs should be reported to the appropriate language team listed at http://translationproject.org/team/index.html The very latest version of wget translations (so you can check whether a bug is already fixed) is always available at http://translationproject.org/domain/wget.html -- Micah J.
