Andries, thanks for insisting. As Andries says, I came up with a polished version of his patch (17th August), but got no review resp. 'ok for pushing'. The discussion is still tagged as 'open' here, but I admit, meanwhile there has been so many other issues to fix that I never came back on it (scrolled down that far). The patches should have gone into 1.17 as new feature. 1.17.2 might just be a bugfix release !? @Giuseppe, @Darshit: WDYT about adding these changes into 1.17.2 ? Regards, Tim
