Hi wget, I don't know if this is the right mailing list for this but I thought I would try here anyways.
Also, if this community isn't keen for this sort of request I fully understand and will hold no grudges. I have been teaching myself programming for the last few years (in between a full time job in another industry and helping raise 3 kids) and feel that to really move beyond the toy challenges I have done so far I need to dive into a project and collaborate with others. I was hoping the wget community would be the place I could start this journey. I see the most development has moved to wget2 so I have downloaded the source and compiled this version onto my computer and I have set up my environment as per the recommendations here [1] and here [2] (I wish I had known about cscope earlier :|) I know the basics of tcp/ip and git and have an intermediate knowledge of C and feel that I could somewhat help. I do feel though that given my current level (which I would class as beginner to intermediate) I will probably need some hand holding and stepping through the finer points of development. I can only offer a few hours a week, but I am really keen to learn and would like to try and move beyond challenges and toys and try contributing to a real and breathing project that is actually used by people. I have been lurking in the IRC channel under the handle armistace if you are keen you could chat to me there or you can reply here or direct to my email. If you guys feel that this is the right place for this request could you point me at a good toe dipping bug in the code I would be really happy to have a go, even if it is documentation or something like that. Again, if this is not the best place for this sort of request I fully understand.
