Summary: can't load Windows binary in Windows 11 Pro Group: GNU Wget Submitter: rootsmusic Submitted: Tue 21 Nov 2023 08:22:19 PM UTC Category: Build/Install Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Release: trunk Discussion Lock: Any Operating System: Microsoft Windows Reproducibility: Every Time Fixed Release: None Planned Release: None Regression: None Work Required: None Patch Included: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue 21 Nov 2023 08:22:19 PM UTC By: James Lee <rootsmusic> On Windows 11 Pro (22H2), I downloaded the [https://eternallybored.org/misc/wget/1.21.4/64/wget.exe latest version of wget] for x64. However, it won't load and doesn't show any error. P.S. there's a warning: "some antivirus tools recognise wget-1.21.4-win32.zip as potentially dangerous. The file that triggers the warning is wget.exe.debug, which contains debugging symbols for wget.exe, and isn't even executable. If your AV is giving you trouble, and you don't need the documentation or debug symbols, you can download wget.exe directly, or switch to a less broken security product." Note that I downloaded the .exe for x64, and I don't have any third-party antivirus. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?64916> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
