The main reasons are - user tracking via TFO cookies (only under certain circumstances)- reported issues due to middle boxes and firewalls not supporting TFO properly
- browser vendors disable TFO by default (mostly due to the above reasons)
With the decision of Fedora 40 to use Wget2 as a replacement for Wget, this long overdue decision had to be made.
