Summary: The -k (--convert-links) option fails to convert anchors referencing the same page, thus failing offline rendering Group: GNU Wget Submitter: eokoochu Submitted: Tue 09 Sep 2025 03:17:48 PM GMT Category: Program Logic Severity: 3 - Normal Priority: 5 - Normal Status: None Privacy: Public Assigned to: None Originator Name: Originator Email: Open/Closed: Open Discussion Lock: Any Release: trunk Operating System: GNU/Linux Reproducibility: Every Time Fixed Release: None Planned Release: None Regression: None Work Required: None Patch Included: None _______________________________________________________ Follow-up Comments: ------------------------------------------------------- Date: Tue 09 Sep 2025 03:17:48 PM GMT By: Eo Koochu <eokoochu> version: 1.21.3-1+deb12u1 Ran this: $ wget -P "$dir" -E -H -k -K -p 'https://www.sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html' Then when offline the resulting HTML was rendered in Firefox. It rendered fine but there is an anchor link that should jump to another location on the same page: https://sheldonbrown.com/tire-sizing.html#iso Instead of jumping to the “iso” anchor, it tries to access the Internet which of course fails. That link should have been converted to a local link that functions without Internet. _______________________________________________________ Reply to this item at: <https://savannah.gnu.org/bugs/?67487> _______________________________________________ Message sent via Savannah https://savannah.gnu.org/
