I think WinBoard itself works on 64-bit Windows, but the self-installer does not work.
Instead of running the self-installer, you can try unzipping it with WinZip or your favorite unzip program, then run setup.exe. That may still have components that don't work on 64-bit Windows, though. If that doesn't work, try downloading ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/xboard/winboard/winboard-4_2_7-only.exe and run that. It's just the WinBoard program with no installer. It doesn't include the help file or various other example files, but you can get those from the source package, ftp://ftp.gnu.org/gnu/xboard/xboard-4.2.7.tar.gz. You'll need something that handles .tar.gz files to unpack it.
