Details:

xboard crashes when I follow the following steps

1) I have a pgn file which I created in xboard. It starts from a given
position and there are a series of moves. I open the file and go through a few
steps.
2) I click "Edit Game" to create variations
3) I press Shift and make a move
4) I click "Annotate"
5) I then try to move to the next step

At this point, all 64 squares of the chessboard are filled with white pawns.
When I try to move to the next step, xboard crashes. I have attached a
screenshot of how xboard looks like at this point.
