Follow-up Comment #1, bug #13105 (project xnee):
I think that it works better with gnee iconified to ensure that gnee doesn't
interfer with the other applications.
There is yet another to stop gnee while recording. Use the key-bindnings. You
can tie F1 to stop recroding (and F2 to pause, and F3 to resume).
Will this (using key-bindings) solve your problem?
