           Summary: GConf setting for orientation
           Product: OpenMoko

Neod allow to rotate screen from AUX menu but orientation is hardcoded to "1"
which is not comfortable for me (prefer "3" due to USB cable connected).

Would be great to allow to control orientation by GConf settings.

Default rotation should be rather machine specific then selectable by user.

[This e-mail has been automatically generated.]

You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla
bugsystem (http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/) that require
attention.

All of these bugs are in the NEW state, and have not been touched
in 7 days or more. You need to take a look at them, and
decide on an initial action.

Generally, this means one of three things:

(1) You decide this bug is really quick to deal with (like, it's INVALID),
and so you get rid of it immediately.
(2) You decide the bug doesn't belong to you, and you reassign it to someone
else. (Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make sure that
the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the "Reassign bug to
    owner of selected component" option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Just use the "Accept bug" command.

To get a list of all NEW bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark it if you like!):

http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEW&[EMAIL
PROTECTED]

Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/query.cgi.

Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs that
haven't been touched for a week or more.

You will get this message once a day until you've dealt with these bugs!

Updated the original flowcontrol kernel patch

This version of the original flowcontrol kernel patch resolves a problem where
the patch would fail if the console was removed from the kernel command line
(u-boot boot args variable).

It also borrows Fabien's excellent idea to use a variable to track the current
state, thus avoiding turn on when already on, or off when already off.

Note also that it would be a fairly simple matter to combine Fabien's
unregister/register changes with this patch if such a thing is necessary to
resolve the suspend race condition noted in the code.

The community looks forward to having this patch incorporated into a new
kernel; doing so will reduce the number of developers experiencing device
lockups as they experiment and work on gsmd.

Summary: kexec fails on the neo; requires existing kexec ATAG
                    patch
           Product: OpenMoko
           Version: 2007.2
          Platform: Neo1973
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal

        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
                CC: [email protected]

The kernel is compiled with kexec enabled, however kexec does not actually
function on the neo. This is a known problem with ARM devices that require
ATAGs to be passed in from the bootloader (as the neo does in order to boot
correctly). A patch is available to resolve this problem (it has been submitted
upstream, accepted, and is expected to be incorporated into 2.6.24).

Kernel kexec patch to preserve bootloader ATAGs for new kexec'd kernel

This patch preserves the ATAGs (boot parameters) passed into the kernel from
u-boot, and restores those for the new kernel being started by kexec. This
resolves the issue of kexec'd kernels failing on the Neo, due to missing or
garbage boot parameters to the new kernel. This patch applies to the 2.6.22.5
kernel.

Using a 20007.2 rootfs image built today (2007-10-12) with MokoMakefile.

I was repeatedly starting and stopping /etc/init.d/xserver-nodm while trying to
get more information about bug #855, and one matchbox-panel-2 crash produced a
corefile with the following stack trace:

Core was generated by `matchbox-panel-2 --start-applets systray,startup
