I don't know if this is relevant but my second phonenumber has two entries in
openmoko-contacts. One has the country prefix, the other not. This happend,
because openmoko-messages offered me to save this number for some time.

Now i received an sms from this phonenumber, and i thought openmoko-messages
would put the new sms in the folder of this contact. But it doesn't, instead it
saved the sms under "Unknown sender".

But if try to press the dial button in openmoko-messages, it asks me wich number
to dial, but then it simply does nothing!

The same with hald-addon-keyboard.
Sometimes [Ret] key leaves switch on like [Caps Lock].
When Neo try to open in Home: Dialer, Lupe, Trash or other, for example new
terminal in loop, You have to show keyboard and switch off (shaded) [Ret] key.

Summary: Kernel upgrade fails with GTA01 rootfs on SDHC
           Product: OpenMoko
           Version: 2007.2
          Platform: Neo1973
        OS/Version: All
            Status: NEW
          Severity: normal
          Priority: P2
         Component: kernel
        AssignedTo: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
                CC: [email protected]

I don't know exactly where to categorize this, because it's not really a kernel
issue, but more related to packaging and flashing . . . feel free to reclassify
this bug.

In any event, I'm running an AUTOREV rootfs (built myself) on my SDHC card via
the procedure described here:
http://wiki.openmoko.org/wiki/Booting_from_SD#Boot_from_SDHC

Accordingly, my kernel is in NAND where it usually goes.

When the kernel gets upgraded via ipkg/opkg, the new kernel-image .ipk file has
a postinst script that is supposed to erase the kernel partition and reflash it
with the new kernel. But that's not working. Looks like this:

   [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/$opkg upgrade
   Configuring kernel-image-2.6.24
   Upgrading kernel in Flash
   DO NOT stop this process
   /usr/bin/flash_eraseall: /dev/: Is a directory
   postinst script returned status 1
   Nothing to be done
   Collected errors:
   ERROR: kernel-image-2.6.24.postinst returned 1
   [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/$

So I looked into this a little further, and it appears that the postinst script
does some hackery based on grepping "kernel" in the contents of /proc/mtd to
determine where to flash. That should indicate where the kernel lives. But on
my device:

   [EMAIL PROTECTED]:/$cat /proc/mtd
   dev: size erasesize name
   mtd0: 04000000 00004000 "neo1973-nand"

And that's all. So the kernel doesn't show up at all, and the flash operation
fails.

But I know it's there, and the default NAND partitioning scheme is in place (I
even have a basic rootfs in NAND, but I don't boot from it).

My workaround is to have a custom .bb for the kernel based on the official one
but with a few defconfig tweaks (turn OFF mmc debug messages) and removal of the
postinst flash operations to allow it to succeed. I haven't tested this yet
because there's something wrong with the openmoko git repository, but that's
another problem . . .

Incoming SMS messages are organized by contact or placed into unknown if the
contact doesn't match.

Since I never dial internationally none of my contacts are entered with country
codes or prefixes, as is the norm in the US, Canada and Mexico.

Is it still necessary to have MMC debug logging turned on in the default
kernel's defconfig? It slows down card access considerably.

I don't know of any outstanding card-access issues on GTA01, and if there aren't
any, I'd suggest turning that option back off.

(For GTA02, the answer might be different, certainly.)

You have one or more bugs assigned to you in the Bugzilla
bugsystem (http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/) that require
attention.

All of these bugs are in the NEW state, and have not been touched
in 7 days or more. You need to take a look at them, and
decide on an initial action.

Generally, this means one of three things:

(1) You decide this bug is really quick to deal with (like, it's INVALID),
and so you get rid of it immediately.
(2) You decide the bug doesn't belong to you, and you reassign it to someone
else. (Hint: if you don't know who to reassign it to, make sure that
the Component field seems reasonable, and then use the "Reassign bug to
    owner of selected component" option.)
(3) You decide the bug belongs to you, but you can't solve it this moment.
Just use the "Accept bug" command.

To get a list of all NEW bugs, you can use this URL (bookmark it if you like!):

http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/buglist.cgi?bug_status=NEW&[EMAIL
PROTECTED]

Or, you can use the general query page, at
http://bugzilla.openmoko.org/cgi-bin/bugzilla/query.cgi.

Appended below are the individual URLs to get to all of your NEW bugs that
haven't been touched for a week or more.

You will get this message once a day until you've dealt with these bugs!
