Comment(by marek):

I discussed that problem with raster. Here his response:

i almost am certain that it is the momentum detection in
etk. it's a combination of our touchscreen, jittering and momentum
 detection
 code.

i'll add it to my todo list after i get ompower actually building from its
 svn repository

Comment:

From the flash demo that was not that obvious (no scrolling sample
 present) ...
It is no problem to add it.

this is useful because its faster to do one backstroke and re-type the
word than doing numerous backstrokes for each letter.

 * note
when there is no word being typed (when the work bar is empty), backstroke
should remain as deleting one letter at a time.

see the qtopia keyboard for more details.

Comment(by marek):

Just realized why I did not do it that way. I have no graphic that can do
that. I have the transparent black square with an asterisk and the white
arrow. No blank square or a square with an arrow. Please provide a square
with an arrow on top. That would be best.

#1579: unable to enter words that are not in dictionary

the current keyboard does not allow us to enter words that are not in the
 dictionary.
 for example:

 marec
 doodle
 reasterize
 holger

 you get the point.
qtopia solves this by doing a zoom/highlight over letters on the keyboard.
upon release, the highlighted letter will be selected, dis-regarding the
 auto-dictionary.

current keyboard lists word selections underneath the qtopia bar with
 (options, cancel).
can we launch from that bar instead of underneath? Or at least on top of
 that bar.
this will give us more pixels for bigger letters in the keyboard.
 for example:

 * while typing a word, selections show up in or on top of the qtopia menu
 bar, hiding (options, cancel)
 * when there is no typing, menu bar reappears.

here's an update on what to do with icons.
we will use images instead of drawing icons.
the idea is that there is an image folder in the neo that assigns images
to applications. even packages installed through assassin will be
assigned an image from that folder. to change the image of an
application, you hold your finger on the icon for one sec, which takes you
to the image folder. select which image you want for the application,
 done.
the images will be creative commons, will have an update on that soon.
of course, we can do this in increments. maybe we just assign images
first, not allowing people to select an image yet, then do updates later
 for switching and adding.
 see attachment for details.

i know you really don't want this. we're trying to get a unified look
 before the release so..
 i re-attached new_home.png

bottom bar should have the four blocks, just like assassin/splinter.
Only there is only INSTALLER in one of the buttons.
other buttons can be vessels for other apps in the future.

#1583: disable blank time, keep suspend/resume
------------------------+---------------------------------------------------

we don't want blank time, only suspend/resume in ASU.
the problem is suspend does not auto-activate unless we go into blank time
 first.
marek mentioned a solution to set suspend after blank time to 1 sec, thus
changing 'suspend' in exposure is actually changing blank time.. Is that
 correct?
Not sure how this should work.
from user space, we only want the screen to go on/off and re-activating it
through the power-key, thus keeping usage patterns consistent.
I think this is the final piece to fix before we can remove the config
 icon in Top Bar.
