 kernel:20080723-asu.stable-uImage.bin
 root file system:20080731-asu.stable-rootfs.jffs2

 Summary: Install package time out without warning message

 Steps:
 1) launch installer
 2) pick a bigger package to install (like London map)
 3) the "Installing" bar is running for over 30minutes
 4) suppose to be system time out or so, but no warning messages

 Expected:
 should tell us whither the package is too big or if the system time out

Comment(by werner):

 There's a (short) timeout that makes the boot menu return after a command
 has
 been executed. If you're in a hurry, pressing AUX will return immediately.
 So
 while the console output may be a little confusing, it seems that
 everything
 worked as expected.

 What "set console to USB" does is that it enables access to the u-boot
 console
 via USB, e.g., with
 neocon -t 30 /dev/ttyACM{0,1,2}

 (Note: enter this command literally. neocon will select the device for
 you.)

 neocon lives here:
 http://svn.openmoko.org/developers/werner/neocon/

 It's not necessary to set the console to USB in order to flash any updates
 with dfu-util. The USB console is in fact unavailable while in DFU mode.
 DFU mode is entered when using dfu-util and it is exited when dfu-util
 successfully completes a run where the options -R and -D were both given.
 (Or when u-boot is restarted or when the USB bus is reset.)

 When turning off the wifi to save power the power button becomes
 unresponsive. The battery has to be removed to gain control of the power
 button. If the wifi is turn off again the same happens again.

Comment(by andy):

 Hum started looking for this behaviour and there it is in my logs too.

 What it is doing is spamming D+ and D- with differential 6MHz square wave
 the whole time, AIUI this is same as transmitting 00110011... from the
 GTA02. Host gets very confused trying to understand it after that and
 sees it as low speed, etc.

 If you force it to host mode, it shuts up, but as soon as you send it back
 to device mode it spews again. Normally the bus should be quiet except
 for short 1ms frame signals when idle.

 Did not see any test bits in s3c2442 datasheet.

Comment(by andy):

 Probing it with USBMON, there is no logical activity at the USB Host
 controller. So this is happening at a low level in the S3C24xx rather
 than some storm coming from the gadget.
