Comment(by apm):

 Ok... then the bug is that I somehow managed to get into it anyway. (maybe
 because I installed the qwerty-button?)
 Anyway, ... the spanner was visible in the GUI and I clicked it, reaching
 the configuration menu with the "shelf gadgets".

Comment(by raster):

 that's because there was a patch made to the theme to just make the button
 invisible/inactive. your change of theme simply made it active again. as
 such that button is a configuration item and i removed it from the config
 - but those changes were not put into ASU and instead it was hacked
 around. so unfortunately i can't really "support" the change.

Comment(by mattt):

 I have the same error, different build.

 Device was flashed with the following in this order:

 *u-boot-
 gta02v5-1.3.1+gitr38+64eb10cab8055084ae25ea4e73b66dd03cc1a0cb-r0.bin
 md5 310047f33b6214f9ed299dfa422ceab8

 *Om2008.8-gta02-20080808.uImage.bin
 md5 f5a0e045ec9a2f0f08513fffc14b362e

 *Om2008.8-gta02-20080808.rootfs.jffs2
 md5 9d11744284f180b28423d6bfcd46bff2

 The device boots ok, but in Settings/Wifi it says : 'unknown'
 No networks are detected.

 Additionally, usb is not working, no connection from ubuntu.
 Power icon does however change to indicate usb power.

 Back story : I previously has 20080806 installed and wifi and usb worked
 fine.

  * owner:  openmoko-kernel => openmoko-devel
  * status:  new => assigned
  * version:  GTA02v3 => GTA02v6
  * component: System Software => unknown
  * milestone:  OM-2008.8 =>

Comment:

 Remove the milestone, Changed the hardware version, you are unlikely to
 have a GTA02v1 and GTA02v3. It is not a kernel bug, so assigning it
 somewhere else.

 Which image do you use (URL)? The Trolltech Qtopia image? The ASU OM2008.8
 image?

 I encourage you to reflash. There was no upgrade in OM2008.8, so I wonder
 how opkg upgrade can fail?

 Tick is not the owner of the bug, putting that into System Software and
 adding the pm keyword so will sees the bug.

 I'm running the 2008.8 image, no opkg upgrade done since flashing.
