reliable. I phoned it (After I had put my phone out of suspend, 15 minutes
before) 9 times. 7 times I get immediately the voice mail. 1 time I get
the normal tone but my phone doesn't ring. 1 time it rings as it should
be. This all when I look at the status icon and see a network connectivity
of 4 blocks.

thanks for providing your log! From this log, it can tell you were
connected with your network 'BEL PROXIMUS', received 2 phone calls,
received 1 SMS, have 26 SIM SMS messages, and delete one SMS message. I
cannot know why you got the voice mail from this log. It would depends on
the local network traffic and need trace protocol layer. If your network
never reached you on those 7 calls, we cannot see from the log. This log
is stored the information between GSM modem and your application.

from this log:
you receive a SMS and stored it to SIM card index 16.

the message text are encoded by GSM Alphabet, not UCS2.

Erin, I have no idea if you are making a statement or asking a question...
I also don't know how to interpret the log file. If I knew, I would have
debugged the problem myself and provided better info.
If you need more info or clarifications, please ask in a clearer way.
Thanks!

Comment(by thebohemian):
I just found out that this problem is most likey *not* OpenMoko specific.
I assume it is not a hardware or touchscreen driver issue.
The reason for my assumption is that I installed the OpenEmbeded-based
Mamona distribution on my N770. Apart from a patched xorg-kdrive (omap
support) it uses the same version libsdl as OpenMoko and (surprise!) shows
the same issue.
Perhaps things will be better if we could get libsdl 1.2.13 with all the
patches Debian applies. Who knows. :)

While building a debian package of opkg
I had to change a few lines in the source code, see patch attached :
http://rzr.online.fr/docs/contribs/patches/opkg-0.0.20080924rzr1.diff
I also fixed some typos and added a basic CONTROL/control in tree
