Comment(by robolange):

 I have since upgraded to OM2008.9 and this bug does not appear to be
 present in that distribution. Because OM2007.2 seems to be a buggy and
 dead distribution (although, one that for reasons unknown is still shipped
 with the phones), we might just want to recommend an upgrade to those
 affected, and close this bug.

 How does one apply this fix? I don't see any patches or intructions in any
 way. I updated with the testing repos today and the issue was still there.

Comment(by pooze):

 I have the same problem. Updated to the testing repo just a few hours ago.
 Struggled getting my icons back. Now they are back, but still cannot open
 Settings. Tried running it from the commandline, which gives me the
 following output:

 [EMAIL PROTECTED]:~# exposure.py -f run
 Traceback (most recent call last):
   File "/usr/bin/exposure.py", line 304, in <module>
     import etk
   File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/etk/__init__.py", line 1, in

   File "/usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/etk/core.py", line 1, in <module>
     import c_etk
 ImportError: /usr/lib/python2.5/site-packages/etk/c_etk.so: undefined
 symbol: evas_list_append

 Hope this is helpfull. I have no permission to re-open though.

Comment:

 Yes, it is helpful indeed. It shows that the etk binding does not work
 properly (c_etk.so: undefined symbol). Its propably related to the recent
 EFL changes. I think John can say more about it.

 Well, it is defined but not fully implemented yet. But this may take a
 while as the network manager state is unclear at the moment.

Comment(by marek):

 As settings did not change since a while the problem (probably) is related
 to the python bindings / EFL. I could imagine some stuff inside etk is
 broken / changed.
