Comment:

 So ifconfig down doesn't help power saving but the driver is not screwed
 after it; unbinding works as expected.

 Since wireless now "works" to some extent and this particular bug is
 fixed, closing.

 Should we still care about it? APM is deprecated long time ago, as to the
 suspend/resume hooks (/etc/apm.d), that's probably userspace issues, no?
