yes he did:

I gave that a try. I cleaned out my object directory. And ran "make clean" and 
ran:

 make MAKEOBJDIRPREFIX=/home/reed/obj buildworld
and also
make MAKEOBJDIRPREFIX=/home/reed/obj quickworld
