Unfortunately, many Cyrix-based systems from this era are questionable -- they apparently played fast and loose with the specs, resulting in a lot of memory corruption errors.

If you have access to one and have a bit of time to kill, try moving everything over to a similar Pentium or K6-2/3 system and see if the problems go away.
