After logging into the machine (Lenovo ThinkPad X61) one can see two dhclient instances running on that wifi interface, one run by _dhcp and one run by root. The one run by user _dhcp then uses >97% processing time of one of the machine's cores. This behaviour has been around since v3.6 (this is the version I started with dfly).
