Still need to place a core somewhere. I am using pf, and this box is a fanless PC being used just as a firewall at this point. The panics started happening since I started using a new dragonfly PC behind it, attached through a switch. It has been serving the wireless devices just fine, through the same switch, but via an Airport Extreme, which may had been filtering out ICMP inducing the crash.
