Reverse proxy server caching 304 responses from origin server

Quick question: Do you know whether this is a known bug in IIS?

Aside from the fact that this is an IIS problem, shouldn't the proxy server
ignore any additional entity-headers (ie. Content-Length) when a "304 Not
Modified" is encountered if the origin server mistakenly puts them in?

Thanks.
