http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8226 Odd error when setting perms with unixd_set_proc_mutex_perms() Summary: Odd error when setting perms with unixd_set_proc_mutex_perms() Product: Apache httpd-2.0 Version: 2.0.35 Platform: PC URL: http://www.ypass.net OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: Other Component: Platform AssignedTo: [email protected] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] On my system Linux devel.atomicservers.com 2.2.19-6.2.1ensim.smp-3.0.4-6 #1 SMP Fri Feb 1 18:02:30 PST 2002 i686 unknown when the group is set to #-1 in the httpd.conf file, after starting the server, i received the following message in my error_log: [Wed Apr 17 17:33:01 2002] [emerg] (22)Invalid argument: Couldn't set permissions on cross-process lock the call to semctl() in os/unix/unixd.c (line 547) was failing (called by the worker mpm module), presumably because -1 is an invalid group? Setting the group to an existing valid group in the httpd.conf fixes the problem. Catching this condition and reporting a more friendly error would help other people. :) thanks!
