http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=8362 apache -k stop Summary: apache -k stop Product: Apache httpd-2.0 Version: 2.0.35 Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows 9x Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: Other Component: Platform AssignedTo: [email protected] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] I'm having problems with apache -k stop on IBM laptop with windows98 (I know, its experimental - setting low severity) History - Installed using .msi - apache -k uninstall (I never liked the 'service' for win98) - apache -k start doesn't work - no such service - apache -k install Monitor stops working at this point - apache -k stop is 'sluggish', not properly responding. Service is not properly responding, and trying to kill the service is the worst, always leaves the socket open. Proposed resolution: - Don't install as 'service' on win98, there is no such real thing and has been flagged many times as 'not supported/experimental' - so let it be so!
