http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=9714 Apache/2.0.36 service cannot be startet on Windows XP Pro SMP Summary: Apache/2.0.36 service cannot be startet on Windows XP Pro SMP Product: Apache httpd-2.0 Version: 2.0.36 Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: Other Component: mpm_winnt AssignedTo: [email protected] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We are running Apache 2.0.36 on several 2-processor Windows 2000 and XP Professional machines. On Windows XP (even freshly installed without any other software or operating system fixes) the Apache service cannot be started. On single processor machines everything is fine. When I attempt to start the properly installed service using the services console the following error is reported: "Could not start the Apache2 service on Local Computer Error 1053: The service did not respond to the start or control request in a timely fashion." I was able to reproduce the problem on 2 different SMP machines - one with all the operating system security fixes applied, one with no fixes applied (fresh install). On Windows 2000 SMP everything works fine. When started from the command line under XP everything works as expected. Unfortunately I was unable to debug the service init in order to find the line with the failing call. If you need any assistance on Windows XP SMP please let me know. I'd be glad to support the developer(s). --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
