Apache does not write to error-log

Sorry for not responding, was on a sabatical :-)

The problem does not seem to happen when cronolog is out of the picture. 
LogLevel is set to info, error were 401's and 404's.

I think the Apache2 documentation should not refer to cronolog UNTIL cronolog 
is compatible with Apache2 (see the cronolog homepage, which states that 
Apache2 compatibility is still work to be done)
