http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=18552 Giving the wrong path in ScriptAlias makes apache2 segfault. Summary: Giving the wrong path in ScriptAlias makes apache2 segfault. Product: Apache httpd-2.0 Version: 2.0.44 Platform: Other OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: Other Component: mod_cgi AssignedTo: [email protected] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] When I was configuring a new site and misspelled the path in ScriptAlias the only error I got in the error-log was: [Tue Apr 01 09:15:28 2003] [notice] child pid 7722 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) [Tue Apr 01 09:15:30 2003] [notice] child pid 7723 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) [Tue Apr 01 09:15:33 2003] [notice] child pid 7725 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) [Tue Apr 01 09:15:36 2003] [notice] child pid 7726 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) [Tue Apr 01 09:15:39 2003] [notice] child pid 7727 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) [Tue Apr 01 09:15:42 2003] [notice] child pid 7728 exit signal Segmentation fault (11) The config: ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /var/www/www.exammple.org/cgi-bin/ ^-- The misspellning ScriptAlias /cgi-bin/ /var/www/www.example.org/cgi-bin/ And it worked. Took me some time to figure this out :) I think that a nicer error than Segmentation fault is needed. Nothing serious I think (therefore the minor severity).
