mod_rewrite, RewriteLock permissions failure

------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2003-06-07 10:48 -------
Hopefully you found a local work-around for the missing chown()? (hacking
mod_rewrite.c to add an appropriate chown() call)

After digging a while, it is clear that there are some serious problems with the
rewrite log lock that aren't so easy to fix locally. These could result in some
misformatting of the rewrite log. Other than the missing chown(), I don't see
any reliability problems with the more important lock that controls
communication with an external RewriteMap program.

Hopefully all of this will be resolved in the next release.

Thanks for your report!
