http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=21579 Problems with AcceptEx and McAfee VirusScan Summary: Problems with AcceptEx and McAfee VirusScan Product: Apache httpd-2.0 Version: 2.0.46 Platform: PC OS/Version: Windows XP Status: NEW Severity: Critical Priority: Other Component: Core AssignedTo: [email protected] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Apache 2.0.X does not work with McAfee VirusScan on Windows 2000/XP Windows 98/Millennium systems. McAfee is aware of the problem but I have not been able to find a report that describes this within Apache's bug reports, but there may be related bug found by searching for AcceptEx. The symptom is a spinning McAfee process that effectively eats up all CPU available time. No connections may be made to Apache, neither from onboard (127.0.0.1 or localhost) or external. The error log states (repeatedly): child.c(547): (OS 10038)An operation was attempted on something that is not a socket. : winnt_accept: AcceptEx failed due to early client disconnect. Reallocate the accept socket and try again. >From the McAfee web site: "Internet connectivity issues caused by incompatible Layered Service Providers (LSP) CR13346 Product Versions All McAfee VirusScan 7 versions All McAfee Internet Security 5 versions All McAfee Firewall 4 versions Operating Systems Windows 2000/XP Windows 98/Millennium System Information Connection to the Internet Description You may experience Internet connectivity issues when McAfee Products are used in conjunction with other applications, which include a Layered Service Provider (LSP.)
