http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=22061 About alias mapping the / Summary: About alias mapping the / Product: Apache httpd-1.3 Version: 1.3.23 Platform: Other URL: http://httpd.apache.org/docs/misc/rewriteguide.html OS/Version: Other Status: NEW Severity: Minor Priority: Other Component: Documentation AssignedTo: [email protected] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Where it states: "We just redirect the URL / to /e/www/. While is seems trivial it is actually trivial with mod_rewrite, only. Because the typical old mechanisms of URL Aliases (as provides by mod_alias and friends) only used prefix matching. With this you cannot do such a redirection because the DocumentRoot is a prefix of all URLs." Actually, I did try this time ago. Redirecting / did segfault the httpd process, but RedirectMatch ^/$ did work perfectly. Just my 2cents. :P --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
