http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=23472 httpd.conf-dist has the wrong language code and MIME charset for Korean Summary: httpd.conf-dist has the wrong language code and MIME charset for Korean Product: Apache httpd-1.3 Version: HEAD Platform: All OS/Version: All Status: NEW Severity: Normal Priority: Other Component: core AssignedTo: [email protected] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] httpd.conf-dist has the following lines: # Italian (it) - Korean (kr) - Norwegian (no) - Norwegian Nynorsk (nn) # Portugese (pt) - Luxembourgeois* (ltz) AddLanguage kr .kr AddCharset ISO-2022-KR .iso-kr 'kr' is NOT the language code for Korean BUT the country code for Republic of Korea(South Korea). 'ko' is the language code for Korean. Moreover, I can bet a million buck that there's NOT a single web page written in ISO-2022-KR. ISO-2022-KR WAS (NOT any more) used for Korean internet email in 1990's but was NEVER used for web publishing. EUC-KR and Windows-949(MS IIS incorrectly refers to it as ksc5601.1987-0) are two most common MIME charset(Character Encoding) used for Korean document with UTF-8 catching up recently. Therefore the above lines should be replaced by AddLanguage ko .ko AddCharset EUC-KR .euckr I had reported this a couple of times before Apache bugzilla was set up but I've just found that it's still not fixed. It'd be nice if this could be fixed. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
