http://nagoya.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=24448 Using mod_proxy to proxy a dynamic page, an orphan process eats CPU Summary: Using mod_proxy to proxy a dynamic page, an orphan process eats CPU Product: Apache httpd-2.0 Version: HEAD Platform: PC URL: http://sx.triumf.ca/index.htm OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Severity: Major Priority: Other Component: mod_proxy AssignedTo: [email protected] ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED] We are using Apache 2.0 to proxy an ELMO visual presenter HV-8000SX (http://www.elmocanada.com/presentation/) which has a builtin webserver. The proxy adds access control and some rewrites. After some time, expecially if the "Live" feature is used (a Java applet), an httpd process is found which steadily consumes more and more CPU eventually (after a couple of hours) causing the system to become sluggish. This process shows up in "ps ax" but not in /server-status Sending a SIGHUP to httpd fixes the problem but remote users must then close and restart the applet, which is disruptive to a meeting. This problem showed under httpd-2.0.40-21.5 on RedHat 9.0 and is present on 2.0.48 built today --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
