  As pointed out in the [EMAIL PROTECTED] discussion thread, it stinks but we 
cannot
  sendfile and either;

  * come back after a network timeout, or
  * determine the (arbitrary) amount of data sent.

  It seems the WinSock API and TransmitFile are lacking for some means of
  neatly honoring socket timeout parameters in a faux-blocking mode.

  Suggestions and contributions welcome, provided they continue to honor the
  timeout to prevent the obvious resulting DoS if TransmitFile is not timed out.
