Apache Segmentation fault (11) if VirtualHost more than 496

Summary: Apache Segmentation fault (11) if VirtualHost more than
                    496
           Product: Apache httpd-2.0
           Version: 2.0.40
          Platform: PC
        OS/Version: Linux
            Status: NEW
          Severity: Major
          Priority: Other
         Component: Other Modules
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

Hello.
We are using apache 2.0.40 on Redhat-9:
httpd-2.0.40-21.9
httpd-manual-2.0.40-21.9
httpd-debuginfo-2.0.40-21.9
redhat-config-httpd-1.0.1-18
httpd-devel-2.0.40-21.9
httpd-2.0.40-21.9
httpd-manual-2.0.40-21.9
httpd-debuginfo-2.0.40-21.9
redhat-config-httpd-1.0.1-18
httpd-devel-2.0.40-21.9
php-mysql-4.2.2-17
php-imap-4.2.2-17
php-4.2.2-17
kernel-pcmcia-cs-3.1.31-13
kernel-source-2.4.20-8
kernel-2.4.20-24.9

When php's function "imap_open" is called(this function is called in horde/imp
for example), Apache falls down if there are more than 496 VirtualHosts. We
recompiled apache-2.0.48 and php-4.3.4 however this did not make any changes.
The only way to prevent this it is to decrease VirtualHost <= 496.
Please Help!
