Whether I type "sh ./configure" or "./configure", it (apparently) just sits there. I added an echo to the beginning of the script (actually all over the script, ) to see what was going on. That echo just keeps getting repeated. Otherwise there is NO output. Now, though, after having tried four separate extractions of the archive, on the fifth time through, it's working.
