The problem appears with phpmyadmin ( not phpnuke like josé ), but a phpinfo page is always OK. The first time, i thought that it's a threaded problem with mpm worker. As i read josé problem, he follow your page info about AIX/APACHE/PHP, and the problem seem to be the same through mpm-prefork and gcc. So I tried an php version 4.3.5RC3, always with mpm-worker, and now the problem appears only after 5 of 6 call of phpmyadmin page, instead of the first call with php 4.3.4. There is no core file, just a message in error_log: "child pid 38640 exit signal Segmentation fault (11)". Apache create a new thread, but any page ( php or not ) can be serve, execpt after an apachectl restart. I can reproduce this as soon as i want. therefore, i'm not a specialist of debub execution of C program: if you have an detailed method to track this problem, it can be helpfull.
