some times .gif images are not showing up

Configuration details

Apache/2.0.48(ssl module enabled) as frontend webserver which is used for 
static pages & images serving purpose

Using mod_jk.so to forward servlet requsts to jakarta-tomcat-4.1.29 in the 
backend (Using ajp13 protocol)

Problem: Some times .gif some images are not showing up but if we refresh IE, 
images comes back. It dows not happen every time. I did not see any errors in 
log files.
