http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=27920 Apache hangs in Windows98 [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|CLOSED |REOPENED Resolution|INVALID | ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-04-23 02:28 ------- I reopened the bug, because it is difficult for a new user to fix the configuration when the PC hangs on bootup, so you can't edit the file, when you don't know what to change. I used the Windows installer (MSIEXEC version 2.00.2600.2) with the file apache_2.0.49-win32-x86-no_ssl.msi. This added the following registry entry... "Apache2"="\"C:\\PROGRAM FILES\\APACHE GROUP\\APACHE2\\BIN\\APACHE.EXE\" -n Apache2 -k runservice" to the registry key... [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\RunServices] As a result, the service is started on reboot. The computer (266 Mhz PII) appeared to lock up (actually, running dead slow) on reboot. The configuration file MUST be modified for Win98SE so that it uses... Win32DisableAcceptEx I think this configuration setting should be built into the installation for Win98SE. --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
