http://issues.apache.org/bugzilla/show_bug.cgi?id=30413 default value for "Group" directive (="#-1") [EMAIL PROTECTED] changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Status|NEW |RESOLVED Resolution| |WONTFIX ------- Additional Comments From [EMAIL PROTECTED] 2004-07-31 01:42 ------- User/Group and ServerName are three things that pretty much everyone can expect to need to change in httpd.conf. There is no default value that we can give that would satisfy the majority of users. Although "nogroup" may work well for specific versions of linux, it won't work for many other platforms. And the failure case of not having enough permissions is better than the altenative failure cases (too much permissions or apache failing to start). --------------------------------------------------------------------- To unsubscribe, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED] For additional commands, e-mail: [EMAIL PROTECTED]
