Summary: No answer from httpd / No page will be loaded
           Product: Apache httpd-1.3
           Version: HEAD
          Platform: Other
        OS/Version: Windows XP
            Status: NEW
          Severity: critical
          Priority: P2
         Component: core
        AssignedTo: [email protected]
        ReportedBy: [EMAIL PROTECTED]

I installed httpd 1.3. Installation was successfull. Service is running.
Loglevel is configured to "debug".

When Apache Service starts the following lines are logged:

[Sun Oct 09 18:55:32 2005] [info] Parent: Created child process 3888
[Sun Oct 09 18:55:32 2005] [info] Parent: Duplicating socket 388 and sending it
to child process 3888
[Sun Oct 09 18:55:32 2005] [info] BytesRead = 372 WSAProtocolInfo = 6620

If I point Internet Explorer or Firefox to http://localhost no page is loaded.
The Browser seems to load a page but comes never ready.
No errors are logged in the error.log and no access is logged in the access.log

When I change the listener port to something else e.g. 85 the same happens.

In the moment I stop the Apache Service the Browser displays a Message that the
host cannot be reached.

Another test for this problem.
If the service is running and I open a telnet session to localhost:80, telnet
connects to this port.
If the service is stopped, telnet does not connect.
So I think httpd himself is running proper.

What problem can I have?
