Look at B14 - gcc-built httpd can't load some DSOs on http://people.apache.org/~trawick/aixstatus.html for similar error messages. Googling for some of the symbols you had unresolved also points to gcc. If you want to use the IBM compiler, set CC=xlc_r before running configure.
