Setup

Apache configured as the forward proxy , users connects to Internet Via
Forward Proxy

Issue

Apache continues file download even though user terminates the download
request.

We have an Apache configured as forward proxy and users connect to internet
via this proxy. If a user while browsing initiates a http file download , the
download starts as usual.

If for some reason users terminates the download at his end , The download
stops. However the download connection at proxy server still continues and it
still maintains the download session until download is finished. This results
in continues occupation of Internet bandwidth although the users has
terminated his download. This be apache is configured on RHEL Lunix 3.0 ES and
all apache versions (httpd 2.0.48, 2.0.50 and 2.2.0.)
)

Why does proxy still continue this download?
