We have an Apache configured as forward proxy and users connect to internet via this proxy. If a user while browsing initiates a http file download , the download starts as usual. If for some reason users terminates the download at his end , The download stops. However the download connection at proxy server still continues and it still maintains the download session until download is finished. This results in continues occupation of Internet bandwidth although the users has terminated his download.
