That one option (AuthzLDAPRequireDN Off) allows the AuthN and AuthZ functions of mod_authnz_ldap to be independently controlled. At University of Michigan we use a Web Single Sign-On System (Cosign) that provides only AuthN. At the same time, we have a rich LDAP environment used for AuthZ.
